Dr. Natalie Guerrero, the proud daughter of Mexican immigrants, was born and raised in Chicago. A first-generation college graduate, she earned a B.A. in Neuroscience, with a minor in Music, from Pomona College in California. She then pursued her dual passions for medicine and research through the Medical Scientist Training Program at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where she completed her M.D. and earned a Ph.D. in Population Health Sciences. During this time, she developed a deep commitment to addressing mental health disparities.
Dr. Guerrero further honed her expertise during her pediatric residency in the Pediatrician Scientist Program at Baylor College of Medicine and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston. She is now a fellow in the Division of Adolescent Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Indiana University School of Medicine.
As the leader of Project Salud, Dr. Guerrero focuses on understanding and mitigating the impact of racial and ethnic discrimination on Latine adolescents' mental health. Her work exemplifies her dedication to health equity and the well-being of marginalized communities.
