Dr. Rivera-Lebron completed her undergraduate and medical school degree with honors in Puerto Rico. Then completed internal medicine residency at the Boston University Medical Center and pulmonary and critical care fellowship at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania, where she also completed a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology. In 2013, she joined the Division of Pulmonary, Allergy and Critical Care Medicine of the University of Pittsburgh where she currently is Associate Professor of Medicine. She specializes in pulmonary hypertension and acute and chronic pulmonary embolism. She is the director of the UPMC Acute Pulmonary Embolus (PE) Team and the Chronic Thromboembolic Pulmonary Hypertension (CTEPH) Program. Dr. Rivera-Lebron has published original research manuscripts, abstracts, reviews, electronic publications, book chapters and has delivered numerous talks at many national and international conferences.
